Description:
Utility Locator is proficient in locating, identifying, and marking the paths of cables, pipes, and other underground conduits that carry utilities before the start of construction to protect from damage during excavation projects. Must possess knowledge of underground utility locating equipment.
Communicates with the Foreman and crews of located utilities at job sites via the Uniform Color Code and brightly colored pennants. As the Utility Locator often works alone, the employee is expected to exercise considerable self-initiation to complete the work and be comfortable with and available for travel.
