Trades Helper - CarpenterAssist in the maintenance of buildings in such a state of repair that no disruption occurs to the instructional program.Successful experience in general carpentry workAbility to outline work schedulesValid Texas driver's license and a clear driving record (submit copy with application)Uses electric saws, electric drill, and hammers.Assists the Carpenter in general repair work on buildings that may be completed with standard carpenter techniques and tools.Assists in replacing floor tile, wall tile, and ceiling tile as the need arises.Assists in repairing doors and windows.Assists in making temporary repairs due to vandalism or other disaster to protect school property and provide safety measures.Assists in repairing furniture and fixtures as directed.Assists in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies.Assists the Carpenter in the proper care and maintenance of school vehicle and equipment assigned.Work extra-curricular functions outside of regular assigned work schedule as requested to include football games, election days, weekends, etc.Works outside of regular assigned work schedule to repair and/or replace needed facilities to include night and/or weekend duty as requested.Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing during regular business hours to confer with district personnel.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job responsibility unless instructed to work from home by supervisor.Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.Reading; ability to understand verbal instructions.Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying.
